Author Guidelines

These guidelines apply to manuscripts submitted to Baku Mathematical Journal. Before submission, authors must ensure that their manuscript falls within the journal's Aims and Scope and that it follows both the instructions on this page and the requirements described on the Policies and Ethics page. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all required declarations, permissions, ethical statements, and submission materials are complete before submission.

Language

The journal publishes manuscripts in English only. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is written clearly and accurately before submission. The journal may copy edit accepted manuscripts, but authors should not rely on copy editing to correct extensive language or formatting problems.

Article Types and Length

  • Research papers: original research papers up to 24 pages in length. Papers exceeding this page limit should be agreed with the Editorial Board before submission.
  • Survey papers: survey papers requested or invited by the Editorial Board.

Before You Submit

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript falls within the journal's aims and scope.
  • The manuscript is original and is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.
  • All authors have approved the final version and agree to submission.
  • The manuscript is written in English.
  • The manuscript has been prepared using the journal's LaTeX class file or sample file.
  • References are complete, accurate, listed alphabetically, and cited in the text.
  • All required declaration statements have been included.
  • All permissions for third-party material have been obtained and properly acknowledged.
  • Any relevant ethics approval, consent, data availability, funding, competing interest, and AI-use disclosures have been included.

How to Submit

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's Editorial Manager submission system.

Authors should submit both the TeX source file and a PDF version of the manuscript.

Preparing the Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared according to the journal's LaTeX class file or sample file.

Recommended Manuscript Structure

A manuscript should normally include the following elements:

  • Title.
  • Author names and affiliations.
  • Corresponding author details, including email address.
  • Abstract.
  • Keywords.
  • Mathematics Subject Classification (2020) codes, where applicable.
  • Main text with clearly numbered sections.
  • Acknowledgments, if applicable.
  • Declaration statements.
  • References.
  • Appendices or supplementary materials, if applicable.

Recent published articles include received, revised, and accepted dates; DOI; abstract; keywords; MSC 2020 classification; author affiliations; and author email addresses. The updated author instructions should continue to support these metadata elements.

Declaration Statements for New Submissions

As part of the journal's updated policies, all new submissions must include the declaration statements listed below, where applicable. These requirements apply prospectively to new submissions under the updated policy framework. Articles published before the adoption of these updated policies may not contain all of these declaration headings. Please see the Policies and Ethics page for full details.

Funding

Authors must include a funding statement in all manuscripts. If no funding was received, authors may state: "The authors received no specific funding for this work."

Competing Interests

Authors must include a competing interests statement in all manuscripts. If no competing interests exist, authors may state: "The authors declare no competing interests."

Author Contributions

Authors must include an author contribution statement for multi-author manuscripts. Example: "A.A. conceived the study; B.B. developed the methodology; C.C. performed the analysis; A.A. and B.B. wrote the original draft; all authors reviewed and approved the final manuscript."

Data Availability

Authors must include a Data Availability Statement in all manuscripts. The statement should identify whether data, code, computational materials, or other research materials are available and under what conditions. For purely theoretical work, authors may state: "No datasets were generated or analyzed during the preparation of this manuscript," or "Data availability is not applicable to this article, as no data were generated or analyzed."

For additional scenario-based wording, including data in repositories, data on reasonable request, restricted data, and code availability statements, authors should consult the Data Availability and Data Sharing section of the Policies and Ethics page.

Use of AI or AI-Assisted Technologies

Authors must disclose any material use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the manuscript's text, analysis, figures, code, or content. Standard spelling, grammar, formatting, and reference-management tools that do not generate substantive content do not require disclosure.

Ethics Approval and Consent

Where a manuscript involves human participants, animals, personal data, hazardous materials, or regulated research activities, authors must include the relevant ethics approval, informed consent, consent for publication, and privacy-protection statements.

References

References should be listed in alphabetical order, and all entries in the reference list must be cited in the text. Titles of periodicals should be abbreviated in accordance with Mathematical Reviews. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their references.

Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Materials

Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively, cited in the text, and accompanied by clear captions. Authors should provide files of sufficient quality for review and publication. Supplementary materials should be clearly labeled and referenced in the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission and providing attribution for third-party material. Any figure, table, or image that has been adapted or reproduced from another source must cite the original source and comply with applicable licensing or permission requirements.

Peer Review

Manuscripts are first considered by an editor to determine whether they are appropriate for the journal. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are normally sent to two or three referees for evaluation. The journal uses a single-blind review model, and the final decision on publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief. Please see the Policies and Ethics page for the full peer review policy.

Copy Editing and Proofs

Baku Math. J. may copy edit accepted manuscripts to prepare them for final publication. Authors are requested to prepare manuscripts carefully before submission to minimize corrections at proof stage. Proofs sent to the corresponding author must be returned to the editors within five days of receipt.

Publication and Version of Record

After acceptance and production, articles are published online as the version of record with their final article details and DOI. The published version of record should be cited using the article DOI.
